Living History of the Prairie...
The beloved Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of “Little House on the Prairie", immortalized her pioneer family life through her books and, in 1974, was herself immortalized in the television series of the same title starring Michael Landon.
On August 9, one has the privilege to continue the celebration honoring her legacy through the one-woman play, “Sincerely Yours, Laura Ingalls Wilder”.
Costumed historical interpreter Nancy Kathleen Boswell, portraying Mrs. Wilder, will convey an intimate portrait of Mrs. Wilder which even her most ardent fans will find fascinating.
A children’s themed program will begin at 11:00 followed by an adult oriented program at 2:00. Audience members are encouraged to attend the program which best meets their busy schedule. Or, better yet, attend both programs!
The play is set in 1947 which saw Jackie Robinson break the color barrier, President Truman announce the Truman Doctrine, and the introduction of the first commercial microwave oven, the Radarrange. Also in that year, Mrs. Wilder turned 80 and shares with us personal reflections of her life.
